Surroundings

Centuries ago the valley of Orient was inhabited by only a few families. Owners of stately homes which later were abandoned due to the exodus to the cities.

 

At present, two of these stately homes are still functioning. This untouched village is so picturesque that it is well worth a visit. The valley, which nowadays has hardly any population, is protected by the Alfabia mountain, 1,100 metres high and the Puig d'es Moix, 750 metres high. It is in this mountain that we find the reservoir named Cuber which is well known for its lush vegetation.
